Keeping in the spirit of Spartan and with the season opener a few days away in the UK, I’ve already mentioned in my previous post how to go about getting your first TRIFECTA, but you are probably wondering ‘what’s after that?’
The good news is that Spartan Races offer a lot more challenge and ways to prove you are as hardcore as you think you are! Here are a list of the races that those that really want to push themselves can take part in.
Multiple TRIFECTA
The great news is you can go for as many sprints, supers and beasts as you want. From the moment you have two TRIFECTA’s, you can gain multiplier medals. These are special Spartan medals represent how many times you have completed all three distance events in a calendar year. If your looking to get more then a 2x TRIFECTA, your going to need to do a little bit of travel outside of the UK!
Ultra Beast
This is where things get really serious! So imagine completing a 22km Beast…and then doing it all over again. Basically a marathon with Spartan obstacles. Sounds crazy right? Well at least there is always something new to train for! There are time limits on the course also so not everyone who takes part will get a medal. Which is a giant belt buckle that looks awesome!!
Hurricane Heat 4/12 Hour
This event was designed to test every aspect of a Spartan racer. With both 4 hour and 12 hour versions, you will be taken through various team based challenges to break and rebuild you over and over again within the time period. Finishers receive the dog tag medal.
AGOGE
This is the ultimate test of a Spartan! Up to 60 hours of team based and individual tasks. The hardest part is that no one knows what you will be asked to do during the trial. Only for the most mentally and physically strong should attempt the biggest challenge of all the Spartan events. Not everyone who starts AGOGE will finish.
Hopefully after completing your first few Spartan races you will have the urge to keep going and try something most people don’t even dream about doing. AROO!!
